Do fish experience? And are they individuals? š my answer is yesā£ā£ā£

I have wondered, can fish experience? They do certainly seem to show fear. I have heard that some have tried to show that fish cannot feel pain, but no one can truly know since we are not in their experience šš¦š¬
This is Bombay, my betta fish that I kept in a very small bowl, I sometimes accidentally dropped him on the counter or floor while I was transferring him to clean his bowl, and i felt very scared for him.

He was the first betta fish i owned and I did love him ā£ā£ā£ I also felt bad sometimes thinking that maybe his bowl was too small and I maybe didn't clean his water enough.
I used to really enjoy candied salmon and believe that fish oil supplements were the best source of Omega-3 essential fatty acids. I now know that choosing vegan sources is always the better choice. Algae is how fish contain Omega-3 and algae supplements are great sources for humans as well.
Overfishing is harming the oceans, and by-catch happens a lot. Here is another documentary about respecting the lives of fish and doing what's best for the oceans š
Fish do deserve to have their lives respected and protected as well, vegan is the best choice, for your own health, for the health of the fish, and for the entire planet, go Vegan š±š»š
Why We Shouldnāt Eat Fish by chatGPT
Many people see eating fish as harmless compared to eating other animalsābut the reality is very different. Choosing not to eat fish is vital for animals, people, and the planet.
For the Fish Themselves
Fish are not swimming vegetables. They are sentient beings who feel pain, stress, and fear. Scientific studies show fish have complex nervous systems and even personalities. Yet billions are pulled from oceans and rivers every year, often suffocating to death or being gutted alive. On factory fish farms, they endure crowded, filthy tanks and suffer from disease and parasites.
For the Oceans
Industrial fishing is devastating marine ecosystems. Massive trawl nets drag along the seafloor, destroying coral reefs and habitats that take centuries to recover. Overfishing has pushed many species to the brink of collapse, and the oceans are losing their balance.
Bycatch (the "Hidden Victims")
When fishing boats cast their nets, they donāt only catch the target fish. Millions of dolphins, whales, sea turtles, sharks, and seabirds are killed each year as ābycatch.ā Eating fish directly contributes to this widespread destruction of marine life.
For Our Health
Fish accumulate mercury, microplastics, PCBs, and other toxins from polluted waters. These substances build up in our bodies when we eat fish, harming our brain, nervous system, and overall health. While people often eat fish for omega-3s, we can get these same nutrients safely from plants like flax, chia, hemp, walnuts, and algae oil.
For the Planet
Fishing is one of the largest contributors to āocean dead zonesāāareas where no life can survive because of runoff from fish farms and pollution from feed crops. Ships also release huge amounts of greenhouse gases. Protecting the oceans by not eating fish is one of the most powerful ways to fight climate change.
When we stop eating fish, we make space for oceans to heal, for marine life to thrive, and for compassion to extend beneath the waves.Ā š
